Hi all, I am wondering if there is anyone that has any ideas about sponsorship. looking for the year to be funded. I have won many events on europro, and wishing to have the best chance to reach the european tour for the 2nd time.
thanks
A good way is to approach the golf magazines get them to sponsor you a page or for a nominal fee then sell the page space to other companies as a way of sponsoring you.
The best thing you could do is sell 50 shares of your season, although that means you will have to pay out 50% of all you prize pots from vaious tours at the end of the season. A player of your standard should be able to sell shares at around £500 each and that will allow buyers to receive 1% of your earning by the end of the season.
If you sell all 50 shares you will have £25,000 to pay all expenses for the season. More than enough!
As you do aspire to gain a european tour card you should include in the deal that anyone who buys 5 shares or more will be entitled to the same deal the next 2 seasons, so therefore the punters can see it as a hopeful business investment.
HI DAN I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU HOW DO YOU BECOME A MEMBER OF THE EUROPRO GOLF TOUR , AND WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS IF COMING FROM THE AMATUER RANKS WHICH MY SON WOULD LIKE TO DO.
AND HIS HANDICAP IS 1 , IS THIS POSSIBLE AND WHAT IS THE BEST AND QUICKEST WAY TO GET THROUGH THE SYSTEM ?
SORRY IT IS NOT ANSWERING YOUR SPONSORSHIP QUESTION, BUT AS YOU ARE A SUCCESSFUL MEMBER OF THE TOUR I AM SURE YOU WILL HAVE THE RIGHT ANSWERS.
THANKS.
Hi harry how are you?
no problem in answering any questions you have.
basically the way your son can get onto the europro is through the tour schools which they have at the start of the year. usually a month before first tournament.
He will need to enter that and unless he has won some good event will most likely need to go through first stage. from there he will need to finish in the top 40 or so to get through to final stage. From there he will have a ranking but the higher up he finishes the better to get the good rankings but will need to finish probably top 40 to be fully exempt.
The other option is to chance it and ask for sponsor invites but usually they are hard to get as alot of people from overseas will be asking aswell.
If he got one then would need to make the most of it and finish top top to get the next event and so on.
I think the best way is through tour school as it will give him some good tournament practice of playing with professionals and be ready for the first event when he gets through tour school.
Hope this helps Harry and please email if you have any other inquiries.
Dan
Hi Dan,
Many thanks for your reply. and useful information which is very much appreciated.
I cannot find any direct e mail address or contact person for the Europro section, can you help me with this ?
When and where is the next qualification for the 2010 season, and what are the approx qualifying sores that are needed to end up in the top 35 - 40 places just to have some idea of the standard of the tour ?
Look forward to hear from you when convenient for you, and best of luck to you and hope you find some good sponsors for your new season ahead.
Best Regards,
Harry.
